Daniel promised a ton of new music in 2023 and the maestro continues to deliver. Keeping up with his promises, fans can finally enjoy Lane 8’s remix of the beloved track ‘RnR’ by Sultan & Shepard. This is Daniel’s fourth release of the year after ‘Woman‘, ‘La Niña‘, and ‘Rave‘.
If you are a diehard fan like me you would recognize this original track first played on Goldstein’s’ Fall 2022 mixtape. Or if you have seen him perform over the last year you would recognize grooving to this mix as he played it in most of his sets.
About ‘RnR’
I was lucky to be at the first Red Rocks show that Daniel had in 2021 right when the world was opening up after the dreaded pandemic. Both those nights we had the pleasure to hear Osama and Ned open for Lane 8 and transport us into a magical journey of 2 hours. I still vividly remember being blown away from the minute they got on stage. The adrenaline rush and once in a lifetime experience for Sultan & Shepard led to the birth of ‘RnR‘. The Forever, Now album released earlier this year in February. The OG RnR track was my favourite in the album. Its dark progressive house tune transports me back to the starry night at Red Rocks.
Fast forward to 2022, Daniel started off his Red Rocks set with ‘RnR’. This journey the duo have with Daniel through their experience at Red Rocks makes RnR the perfect choice for Lane 8 to remix. He alters the beginning with synth sounds and transports me to a perfect beginning of a set. He slows it down a little after the 2nd minute which takes the pace down a notch. The build-up that follows gives the track a climatic punch which I absolutely love. As always Daniel delivers and we know this track has a special place in his heart as a “quintessential TNH track”. The shows that I experienced at Red Rocks followed the This Never Happened concept with our phones in Yonder pouches, so just closing my eyes as I listen to this track gives me goosebumps as I am transposed back to that venue.
