London‘s open-air venue Dockyards will relaunch under a new name this weekend. As a matter of fact, the 20,000 people capacity site, which officially opened last year in March, will hold a reopening party for the first weekend of July as Silverworks Island. Operated by the owners of the former Dockyards venue, Broadwick Live, the space will not see any changes like its name, so attendees can expect the same setup.
The 400,000-square-feet venue will launch the festivities with a Solid Grooves party. The lineup includes artists like Skream, Nicole Moudaber, Jamie Jones, Joseph Capriati and ANOTR. The following day, Armin van Buuren‘s A State Of Trance label will host a showcase.
On the following weekend, the venue will be the setting of the Filipino-electronic festival 1MX LDN Music Festival which has a line-up of Ben & Ben, Yuna, Moira, Johnny Orlando, Janine Berdin, Maymay, and Clara Rosa. Looking ahead to Sunday, July 9th, WAH In The City will host numerous drum & bass artists, including Chase & Status, Andy C and Hybrid Minds.
Obviously, the name change is inspired by the location of the venue itself. In fact, Silverworks Island is in the Silvertown Quays area of East London. The venue overlooks the river in Silvertown Quays and includes state-of-the-art production along with three outdoor stages, food stalls and a VIP area. In 2022, the site hosted events with the likes of Defected and Anjunadeep.
