Southern California will see a return of the two-day Day Trip Festival this June. Headliners and partygoers alike will dance under the sun at the region’s premier house music festival.
Founded as a “house music all day long,” outdoor party, American EDM event promoter Insomniac started Day Trip in 2018 at Academy LA in Hollywood. In 2021, they brought the fans Day Trip Festival at Queen Mary Waterfront, just south of Los Angeles. From June 24 to 25th, house music fans can shuffle to top beats while taking in the fresh ocean air.
Attendees can even stay on the famed floating hotel, the Queen Mary, as it will reopen for overnight hotel stays for the first time in three years during Day Trip. In partnership with Vibee, festival-goers can purchase weekend travel packages, complete with on-board cabin accommodations and access to pre-parties and after-parties aboard the ship. Basically, attendees never have to leave the party.
Last year’s debut at the Queen Mary waterfront completely sold out. However, Insomniac still took fan feedback into account and made significant improvements to heighten the Day Trip experience. Festival goers that book weekend accommodations on board the Queen Mary will be able to travel to and from their rooms throughout the festival, while VIP ticket holders will have access on board to explore the ship. The VIP festival experience will also debut an elevated viewing deck and have espresso martinis available on tap (dangerous). Attendees can also expect additional shade structures for some much-needed dance breaks throughout the day.
The lineup has yet to be announced but 2022 brought the likes of Bob Moses, Armand Van Helden, Dennis Ferrer, Fisher, Coco & Breezy and LP Giobbi so house fans are sure to see a few favorites.
Fans can sign up online for the Day Trip Family presale, receiving first access to tickets Thursday, March 2nd. Tickets will become publicly available Friday, March 3rd at 12 p.m. PST.
