Last year, Pasquale Rotella announced on Instagram that Insomniac would celebrate thirty years in business in 2023. Rotella, who made the announcement just a couple of days after the latest edition of EDC Las Vegas, promised “special experiences and surprises” to celebrate the milestone. Well, we got to discover some of those surprises last weekend, along with a taste of what’s to come in the following months.
Insomniac started the festivities with ‘Anniversary Lane‘, an interactive area that showcases iconic performances over the years. Last weekend Beyond Wonderland‘s attendees in San Bernardino, CA, were the first group to have the chance to experience it. The “lane” itself is composed of two eighty-foot-long video walls where fans can appreciate a video collage of footage from the last three decades. The collage includes fan videos and voiceovers promoting the positive message that “All Are Welcome Here”. The ‘Anniversary Lane’ experience will make an appearance at all Insomniac festivals throughout the year. Obviously, that includes EDC Las Vegas, HARD Summer, Escape Halloween, and EDC Orlando.
Friday, Rotella released an emotional video along with the celebration’s announcements. Insmoniac’s boss also took the opportunity to express his gratitude to all concertgoers in a heartfelt message that came with the video.
“Through the years, I had ideas of what could be possible, but never could have imagined what has become a reality today for Insomniac and the culture I love so much. Everyone on this planet needs something to believe in. Our principles of peace, love, unity, and respect are the foundations our house is built on and why our scene is still growing. We’ve had 30 years together and I’m so excited for what the next 30 years hold. It really feels like we’re just getting started. This is all because of you.”
Surely, Insomniac will continue to shape the industry for another thirty years. For now, we just have to wait for the other surprises to come in 2023 for the 30th anniversary, so make sure to stay tuned. Please visit the official website for more information.
