Getting back into the swing of life after the holidays is the toughest for everyone but for Lane 8 fans. Happy New Year and here is us kickstarting 2023 with Daniel’s first mix of the year. Lane 8’s quarterly mixtapes mark the official season change for his fans since 2013 with everyone’s favorite words “I made you a new mixtape“.
Before the year’s end, Denver-based producer graced us with an 80-minute 2022 Retrospective mix of some of the most popular hits of his label, This Never Happened. Following that Daniel had a jam packed performance at FNGRS CRSSD’s Proper NYE to close of a very successful year with his Reviver tour coming to an end.
Most of Lane 8’s mixtapes typically start off with an introductory ID, his newest collection opens with about 30 seconds of ‘I Love This, I Love You’ by Rival Console setting a perfect tune for a melodic ID 1.
Listeners are in for a treat with a whooping 13 IDs from the label and featuring numerous artists such as Sultan + Shepard with their newest single ‘Losing Ground‘. Throughout the mixtape’s 51 tracklist, Lane 8 brings both new and familiar faces including releases from Tinlicker, Carlita, Franky Wah, Dom Dolla, Icarus, Cubicolor, Bonobo, Rezident, Kasablanca, Fred Again and many more.
