A rare, limited-edition vinyl version of Eric Prydz‘s LP ‘Opus‘ has recently sold for an astonishing $2,105 on Discogs. The Swedish producer’s debut Eric Prydz album, was originally released by Virgin Records in 2016. The record features hit singles such as ‘Every Day’, ‘Liberate’, ‘Generate’, and ‘Breathe’. In addition to this, it features fourteen other tracks, as well as the title track, ‘Opus’.
Eric Prydz’s ‘Opus’ LP is a highly-regarded album in the dance music world. The album was first announced in 2014 and was finally released in 2016 to critical acclaim. One of the key aspects of the “Opus” LP is its musical diversity. This diversity is reflected in the wide range of influences that Prydz has cited for the album. These include styles such as classic house and techno from the 1990s, as well as more experimental and avant-garde sounds.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time that ‘Opus’ has fetched a high price on Discogs, as the album sold for $2,000 last August. Despite the hefty price tag, this latest sale only ranked as the 21st highest-selling record on Discogs for the month of November 2022. It’s worth noting that vinyl records have been experiencing a resurgence in recent years, with sales surpassing CDs in the UK for the first time in 35 years in 2022, earning a total of £116.8 million.
