Italian-brother duo Amedeo and Matteo Giovanelli AKA Mathame released their latest single ‘Come For You’ via Astralwerks. The single sees yet another masterpiece in the cinematic and emotive style they are known for. It is also released alongside an official music video taking viewers on an interstellar journey.Â
The track opens with beautifully melancholic vocals and gliding, harp-like-sounding synths. As the vocals ascend, the drop hits. The harmony is skillfully stitched with a halting crescendo. It creates a deliberate feeling of tension, making listeners feel the disparity between the human and divine realms. Additionally, the pair use this track to explore the relationship between man and spiritual entities.
Secondly, the visually captivating music video touches on the dichotomy between creation and destruction. It continues to explore the human experience and infinite cycle of life. What’s more, the video is directed by visual artist Thomas Vanz. In the video, an astronomical event disrupts three planetary worlds symbolizing earth, fire, and life. The result? A boundless, dreamlike journey traversing time and space.Â
Mathame’s first EP release, Nothing Around Us, started their signature sound. From there, their success followed with ‘Skywalking’ and ‘For Every Forever’ on Afterlife. In 2020, the pair released their first single ‘Never Give Up,’ awarded ‘The Essential New Tune’ by Pete Tong. They remix tracks for artists such as Zhu and Moby and created a mix series utilizing artificial intelligence.
Lastly, the brothers have had a busy touring circuit. They’ve played nearly 150 shows since the pandemic at some of the world’s most coveted stages. Those include Tomorrowland, Miami’s Club Space, Amsterdam’s ADE conference, EDC Las Vegas, to Fabric in London. You can bet they’ll continue to experiment with AI in their sound.
