Auris presents Heatwave Music Festival, Chicago’s newest force in live music events. Taking place from July 16th-17th, it promises an immersive pop-art-inspired event that bridges the gap between experiential art and global leading dance artists. The venue, Douglass Park, welcomes visual artists and creative sets. This could be another one to add to Chicago’s event calendar.
Warhol’s Campbell Soup Cans and Lichenstein’s Crying Girl pop art introduced a new era of art. Now, Heatwave is here to create a music-meets-art environment for everyone to explore. Headliners for this festival include Above & Beyond, Galantis, RL Grime, Zeds Dead, TIËSTO, and so much more. For the house music, you’ll find Oliver Heldens, Audien, Frank Walker, Kasbo, Goldfish, Borgeous, Sam Feldt, Jonas Blue, and more. G Jones, Ekali, Blunts & Blondes, and Boombox Cartel bring the deeper sounds. Lost Kings and Yellow Claw have got the rap crossovers. What’s more, tech house stakes their claim with Shiba San, J. Worra, Dr. Fresch, and so much more.
So, attendees can enjoy three unique pop-art landscapes of installations and environments. The Inevitable will look “more like a discotheque than an art gallery”. Reverie brings the comic-book stylings to life and Radiance takes the eminal patterns and hieroglyphic style into a patterned playground.
