Apple sent out invitations to its next big hardware event, ‘Peek Performance‘. The company’s first event of 2022 will happen on March 8, at 1 PM ET. The happening will be a prerecorded, streaming-only presentation with no media in attendance.
The name of the event is pretty intriguing itself. In fact, it is ‘peek’ instead of ‘peak’ that is used. Apple is expected to announce a new low-cost iPhone SE with 5G connectivity, a faster A15 chipset, and a better camera module. Some rumors suggest the overall design will remain unchanged, meaning Touch ID may still be in the books. However, some say that this year’s model may bring Face ID, with a design that could be similar to 2018’s iPhone XR. We will have to wait and see to have our answer.
Moreover, a new iPad Air with 5G connectivity and the release of iOS 15.4 may also make an appearance. Finally, some rumors also say that an M2 chip may also be coming as part of the transition to Apple Silicon, which could very well be the reason for the tagline used by Apple.
Despite the tragic events happening in Ukraine, it sounds like Apple still wants to go forward with an online event. Nevertheless, the giant still halted product sales in Russia, in response to the invasion. Apple doesn’t operate any physical Apple stores in Russia, but the company’s online delivery system is unavailable for the country. Many companies like Apple are taking a stand against Russia. Recently, Spotify decided to close its Moscow offices indefinitely.
