The first ever electric truck will hit American markets in September of 2021. The Rivian R1T is an “adventure vehicle”, and will have off-roading capabilities in line with the camping lifestyle. And every good campsite needs this: a little music around the fire.
The Rivian R1T Bluetooth Speaker is a removable unit included standard in the Launch Edition, as well as the Adventure Package. It was developed in house by the automaker with features specifically useful for vehicle camping.
The speaker has its own charging dock in front of the center console, also has a USB-C port if you need to charge it inside or with an external battery. One can connect to the speaker using Bluetooth, USB-C, or Wi-Fi. It also can sync with the truck so you can have the same music playing at two locations.
This 5.3 pound water-resistant speaker can last about 6.5 hours on a single charge. It includes a woofer, tweeter, and two midrange speakers to give the audio a full and well rounded sound. Adding to the camp effect, the speaker emits a warm yellow light that has three brightness levels, so if you’re in an area that doesn’t allow fires, you can still have that glow effect.
As a whole, this seems like some pretty rad tech. We love to see more music out in the world, and the Rivian R1T makes it something that you don’t have to remember to bring along, or charge. It’s already right where it needs to be.
