Festival cancellations seem to be on the rise once again. Following new measures implemented by the Dutch Government, festival organizers ALDA are canceling this year’s AMF. However, the event will return to the Johan Crujiff Arena in 2022.
Each year, AMF takes place to celebrate the annual Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE). For its 2021 edition, thousands of fans were expected to return to the Johan Crujiff Arena once again to celebrate the power of dance music. Unfortunately, due to its large size, the festival does not meet the indoor 75% capacity limit set in the Netherlands. Therefore, the event is not allowed to take place.
This announcement comes after thousands of people in ten different cities across the Netherlands gathered on the streets to protest the cabinet to reopen event sectors last weekend.
Although ALDA has come to this difficult decision to cancel AMF, they are setting their eyes for a great return next year. The music festival will make landfall once again on October 22, 2022.
Current ticket holders will have their passes automatically transferred to the new date. However, those who are looking to receive a refund can find out more information here.
