New Website Seeks to Create ‘Dance Music Archive’

Dance Music Archive by Electric Hawk, is a new website that seeks to document and archive the entire history of electronic music. This is great news for fans of DJ mixes, radio shows, and lost footage from old venues. The site promises to be a concise and convenient one-stop-shop for all things EDM.

Andi Durrant will serve as Chief Librarian for the project. He was the founder of ‘This is Distorted’, an audio content agency—that works to connect Music, Media, Sport, and Entertainment to the consumer. As a lifelong student of sound, Durrant will undoubtedly do a good job getting our favorites all in one place.

Durrant was quoted having come up for the idea saying:

“I was having a dig around the loft and came across a couple of boxes of old guest mixes from my radio shows over the years…I found that there’s already thousands of rare and exciting old DJ sets and recordings that people have made and uploaded, but there wasn’t one place to discover them all.  We decided to set about putting it all into one place – a constantly growing and evolving digital museum, which we hope will bring back some amazing memories and provide a place to document the diverse, fascinating and forward-thinking evolution of dance music.”
