The news we have all been waiting for surrounding this year’s Ultra Music Festival in Miami has finally arrived but sadly it is another devastating blow to our dreams of reuniting on the dance floor. Ultra Music Festival organizers are now ready to cancel this year’s event. They are currently waiting for City of Miami officials to approve their permit to host the event next year before making a formal announcement. According to the letter, Ultra is requesting a permit to host the festival on the rescheduled dates of March 25-27, 2022 at Bayfront Park.
Miami city manager, Arthur Noriega, received a letter dated January, 21, 2021, from Ultra attorney, Sandy York, stating that the reasons for the cancelation of the 2020 festival are still existent and pose a threat to festival attendees in 2021.
Last year, Ultra Music Festival in Miami was one of the first major festivals to be canceled following the outbreak of the COVID-19. Shortly after the cancelation, ticketholders to the 2020 event were declined refunds and were given 30 days to decide whether they wanted to use their tickets to attend the festival in either 2021 or 2022. As of now, there is no further update on what organizers plan to do with ticketholders but there is a high chance tickets will just be rolled-over to 2022’s festival.
