BPM Festival Costa Rica 2021 Cancelled

BPM Festival: Costa Rica has canceled its 2021 dates. This follows their other canceled 2020 event in Malta. In their Facebook announcement earlier today, their rescheduled dates will be January 12-18, 2022. You can view their message below.

Unfortunately, event organizers couldn’t get the Costa Rican government’s clearance. They had hoped to operate at 100% this year, but the COVID-19 situation remains dire. Organizers want to make sure that they’re delivering the best quality performances and production they can for attendees. For this, we understand.

It is with great sadness that we continue to endure this ambiguity on when live events will return. Some say it could be as early as June with the vaccines. Though venues may want to take extra precaution and extend it to fall. At this point, it’s just a waiting game but one thing is for certain: we must all work together.

It doesn’t seem like the postponement is due to another outbreak in cases. Even with the necessary permits, it is the city that decides. It will be interesting to see what events will be like once they get the all clear. This means rapid on-site testing and proof of vaccine records.

Current ticket holders who wish to keep their tickets can use it for 2022. Those loyalties will actually come in handy with the free upgrades they’re offering. Anyone wishing for a refund can do so via their Xtixs account. You have until January 25th to apply.

Headliners for this year’s show were set to include Nicole Moudaber, Paco Osuna, Dubfire, Loco Dice, Luciano, and more. But like with all things, perhaps good things come to those that wait. For now, it seems to be vigorously and patiently.

We would love to call out BPM Festival for this incessant “boy who cried wolf” saga. But, let’s just keep moving forward.
