It’s been somewhat of a quiet quarantine season for Rüfus Du Sol, and now we know why. While we haven’t exactly seen them play any live streams, we have seen them drop numerous live-sets, as well as a few episodes of their radio show, Rose Ave Radio. In addition to this, we’ve seen the Australian trio release a new remix, as well as a live show straight from Joshua Tree too. I know I said they’ve had a quiet year so far, but after reminiscing on what they’ve done in 2020, I might have to take that back. The trio has kept busy, and apart from everything I’ve listed, it was recently revealed that they’ve been working on a new album.
Headphone Selections
In a series of tweets, Rüfüs Du Sol shared some rather exciting news with the world. Firstly, they shared the news of their playlist, which they’ve been updating weekly, for the past 6 months. In addition to this, they’ve shined some light on new talents, and emphasized how hard the music industry has been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
They continue on, and share their happiness in being able to link their fans with new artists, and vice versa. Then the bombshell that came no one was expecting. They are working on a new album, literally, ‘every day’. Exciting.
In addition to this, Rüfus shared how exactly fans can check out their playlist, and gave a shoutout to the artist whose cover art they used. Respectable. I for one, cannot wait for this new Rüfus Du Sol album. If it’s half as good as the last one, I’d be willing to say it’s already an instant classic.
For those of you who are curious, I’ve attached their ‘Headphone Selections’ playlist below for your listening pleasure. The original thread of tweets can be found here, enjoy.
