Streaming artists on Twitch are growing tired of the takedown of their streams and clips due to copyright music detections in their video. Since Twitch doesn’t have music licensing agreements with Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, or Sony Music Entertainment, any music under those labels get flagged. In turn, streamers find themselves in difficult positions when creating content on the platform.
As a result, Twitch has announced that they are introducing their own streaming service. It’ll feature a large collection of rights-cleared music that creators can utilize. The new platform, Soundtrack, offers creators a library of music from independent artists that are available to be played in streams sans copyright issues. Much like other streaming services, Soundtrack will feature their own specially curated playlists for creators to explore a specific genre.
Soundtrack is made possible through partnerships with ~30 independent music companies, labels, publishers, and aggregators in exchange for exposure to Twitch’s vast user base. Some companies partnering up with Soundtrack include SoundCloud, Monstercat, DistroKid, CD Baby, EMPIRE, Westwood Recordings, UnitedMasters, Alpha Pup, POPGANG Records, Text Me Records, Dim Mak, Create Music Group, Anjunabeats, Soundstripe, Future Classic, Songtradr, Nuclear Blast and Chillhop Music, and more. The Twitch music curation staff ensured that creators may find music across different genres on Soundtrack. The artists involved but not limited to, include Above & Beyond, mxmtoon, Porter Robinson, RAC, SwuM, and more.
Soundtrack will help streamers create content without worrying about it taken down due to a track in the background. By using pre-approved music, creators may stream with a peace of mind.
