Almost a week ago, Kygo achieved what only a handful can dream of. 1 Billion streams on Spotify. It came following the song’s release 3 years ago, that being one of my all-time Kygo favorites, ‘It ain’t me’, featuring Selena Gomez.
On September 9, the DJ who took tropical house into the spotlight reached this significant milestone. After 3 years, it’s his first song to surpass 1 billion streams. Kygo’s career continues to grow as one of the most successful ones by a musician inside dance music. Moreover, he might be one of the most talented musicians currently in the industry.
Kygo continues proving he’s unique. Remixes, redos, original tracks, and collaborations have done nothing but show how amazing and diverse the Norwegian DJ’s talent is. While this might not be the first time the DJ enters the 1 billion stream club, it is the first time he does it directly through his own song. Previously, the achievement came as an indirect collaborator. In addition, Selena Gomez is no stranger to it considering ‘Taki Taki’ with DJ Snake.
We want to congratulate Kygo on his achievement. Certainly, the first of many more to come!
