The Dutch DJ and producer Colyn arrives with his new body of work that is titled Patterns EP, a work that evokes transmissions of emotions and a deep sense of nostalgia. In addition, this marks his return to the Afterlife imprint.
As the years go by, these deep sounds have been considerably rising, giving songs and artists a larger platform. For example, there is Colyn who always has amazing songs up his sleeve.
A few months ago we covered his EP, Concepts of Love, and the amazing remix to Joris Voorn‘s ‘Never’. If you have not listened to them, we recommend that you do so since Colyn is one of the most prolific artists in recent times.
Colyn’s dedication to the craft is unprecedented. He started producing when he was 9 years old, and since then, has not stopped creating epic melodies. Now he comes with his new Patterns EP which he describes this way:
“A range of different emotions have gone into composing my new EP for Afterlife… From desperation to contemplation, to hope. The latter is what I’m sticking with for the future, hope for a recovery of our beloved industry and scene ”.
Colyn – Patterns
In Patterns, Colyn develops his unique sound, alongside the featured vocals from his brother Maurits Colijn, swaying between a downbeat rhythm and dreamy synth melodies. Throughout the tracks, he shows us his talent and focus on the club scene sound.
As a hallmark of his sound, Patterns EP is yet another one that leaves us with a sense of nostalgia. Endless textures and delayed synth stutters fall into euphoric grooves, each more infectious than the last.
The lead track sees Colyn construct a near eight-minute journey that is impossible to tear yourself away from. The title track evokes similar emotions while immersing us in a world full of serene sounds and infectious grooves.
If you love the melodic techno sound, you cannot miss this EP by Colyn. You can listen to it below.
