After a year to forget for festivals, Glastonbury organizers feel optimistic about coming back in June 2021. The prestigious Glastonbury Festival aims to have the festival back at the beginning of next summer, in June 2021, Emily Eavis has said.
After continuous rumors and speculations regarding next year’s edition of the event, the daughter of the founder Michael Eavis shed some light on the celebration. The now co-organizer of the event stated on Twitter that the next edition of Glastonbury will not take place in September.
Previously, his father and founder Michael Eavis could not deny that the fate of the 2021 event was uncertain. The existence of a coronavirus vaccine could determine whether or not to hold the event next year. The festival could not hold its yearly celebration as the coronavirus spread forced all the summer festivals to cancel its editions. Despite the uncertainty, his daughter Emily affirmed that they are still very much aiming for June. In the worst-case scenario, the festival would be back in 2022.

Unfortunately, the cancelation of this 2020 supposed that fans could not enjoy the 50th-anniversary celebration. The ticket sale was going great with more than 125,000 tickets sold. Luckily for them, fans who still own those tickets will be able to use them next summer. But music fans should celebrate as the organization of the festival promised that
Glastonbury 2021 will be ‘a double celebration’.
Glastonbury always manages to offer a world-class line up, but the next edition will be even better after this worldwide crisis. Besides, Ms. Eavis also gave an update for those hoping for resale for the festival. As many of you know, Glastonbury 2020 sold out in under an hour when tickets were first released. Unfortunately, she stated that there will be no ticket resale in October.
The resale will take place in April 2021 and the free cancellation deadline also changed its extension being now possible until the end of January 2021. Hopefully, Glastonbury 2021 will take place in June and fans will celebrate as they deserve after this awful situation.
