According to European news publication EuroWeekly, 130 partygoers were evicted from Amnesia, a nightclub in Ibiza, and the club was told to stay closed. They were forced to leave the premises at 7 AM by Guardia Civil and Local Police.
Police received multiple new complaints due to the club’s loud music. The owner of Amnesia Nightclub claimed that its event was a private party, but the venue is not allowed to be open under the current rules. As a result, they filed a complaint against the owner for failing to comply with the Nueva Normalidad Decree.
Recently, the Balearic government restricted nightclubs in Ibiza from reopening until a vaccine has been found for COVID-19. However, some clubs have been allowed to reopen for private events, there are strict limits. They are required to implement safety and precautionary measures, including mask requirements and social distancing guidelines. Guest capacity cannot reach more than 300 people. In addition, clubs can offer bar service until 10 PM and must close no later than 2 AM.
