First of all, happy birthday Whethan! The Chicago based DJ turned 21 years old yesterday! Yeah, this might not be the best year to come of legal age, but hey, there’s still a lot of reasons for Whethan to celebrate! One of these many reasons is the fact that the DJs latest album, Fantasy, is coming soon! To celebrate, Whethan himself posted his latest album Fantasy cover art on twitter, and well, we’re excited!
Whethan’s year has been filled with live-stream performances. After a surprise album listening party during Room Service Festival, and a stellar appearance at EDC’s Virtual Raveathon, which had a very special and memorable beginning (jk, love you Wheathy), the DJ keeps on winning more and more fans. Yet, with the release of his sophomore album, Whethan is ready to make a big splash on the industry of future bass.
After thanking everyone for the birthday wishes, Whethan decided to treat us and himself. Whethan posted the cover art for his latest album, Fantasy. The cover seems to feature Whethan himself wearing a motorcycle helmet and surrounded by sunflowers. You can check it out below!
For a couple of years now, Whethan has been one of the top representatives of a very specific style inside future bass, the genre which dominated the second half of this last decade. Along with artists the like of Louis The Child and San Holo, he’s dominated a chill, synthesized, and beautiful style. Now, Whethan returns with a new album which we’re sure will be more than amazing. We’ve already been able to listen to a couple of tracks. Our opinion so far? A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. Every sound is masterfully crafted, and we can’t wait to listen to it on its totality!
He’ll also be performing at the Digital Mirage 2.0 digital festival on June 5th weekend.
Once again, here in EDMTunes we wish Whethan a very happy birthday! We hope to hear more album related news soon, and we’ll see him and Louis The Child tomorrow for their beats battle!
