This Memorial Weekend, two new livestreams will be taking place. Both Movement Detroit and Governors Ball will be hosting their very own virtual events in place of their festivals.
Movement Detroit Virtual Festival
Movement Electronic Music Festival was initially expected to take place this weekend. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the festival was forced to postpone to September 11th – 13th. In substitute for the actual event, organizers have decided to hold a live stream to honor it.
Movement Detroit is known for bringing techno lovers together with performances by incredible artists. Surely, festival organizers wanted to do just the same with this special live stream. This event includes a stacked lineup, with artists such as Anna, Claude VonStroke, Loco Dice, MK, and Seth Troxler.
The virtual festival will take place on May 23rd – 25th. The event will be benefiting the MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund; this is a fund that aims to help those in the music industry who have been affected by the coronavirus. If you plan to participate in the Movement Detroit Virtual Festival, then make sure to watch the live stream on YouTube or Facebook.
Governors Ball Livestream
This summer, Governors Ball Music Festival was supposed to take place in New York for its 2020 event. Unfortunately, concerns with COVID-19 led to its untimely cancellation. In lieu of the popular festival, organizers will be hosting a special live stream event.
The livestream is expected to take place on May 24th starting at 6:30 PM EST/ 3:30 PM PST. Governors Ball will have special performances by RÜFÜS DU SOL, Bob Moses, DJ Snoopadelic aka Snoop Dog, and Sofi Tukker. Set times have yet to be released, but they are expected to be announced soon. You can watch the event on the Governors Ball YouTube and Facebook.
