After one season, Idris Elba‘s show, Turn Up Charlie, has officially been canceled. The show is based on the struggling life of being a DJ while simultaneously being a nanny. Since it’s release in March 2019, there were mixed emotions towards the show.
According to the Daily Mirror, the show will not be getting a second season. Idris Elba was hoping that there would be another season and was even working on new ideas for it. However, an inside source states that “Netflix and Idris just didn’t see eye to eye on it.”
Although Turn Up Charlie will not have another series, this will certainly not be Idris Elba’s last project. He will be starring in the Hobbs and Shaw sequel and will be writing a movie with Neil Cross for the BBC series Luther. In addition, Elba recently released a new single with Jay Robinson on mau5trap titled “Know Yourself.” Certainly, Elba will not let this unfortunate news prevent him from moving forward.
