III Points Festival Postponed to October with Modified Lineup

Another day in a world with coronavirus, another spring festival postponed. III Points, the alternative music and arts festival with several notable dance music artists, announced on Saturday that it is moving its seventh edition from May 1 and 2 to October 16 and 17.

III Points organizers made the decision “with the health and safety of festival guests, staff and the Miami community top of mind,” according to their press release. The festival at Mana Wynwood in Miami is maintaining “the majority” of its original lineup including Green Velvet and Robyn. The lineup no longer includes heavy-hitters Chris Lake and Disclosure. However, III Points has added headliners RÜFÜS DU SOL, ARTBAT and more.

Tickets purchased previously will be honored for the new dates, according to the release. But neither the release nor III Point’s Facebook post on Saturday makes mention of a refund offer.

The Facebook post states that III Point’s first installment was in October 2013, and that “2020 has brought us full circle to our new dates.” In addition, the post also states that organizers are working with promoters Link Miami Rebels. Together, they will “bring some other major surprises to the lineup at the festival and around the city.”

Besides dance music artists, III Points has booked headliners including The Strokes, Chromatics, Peaches and Tycho.

Here is the old lineup:

Other Festivals Postponed

III Points is the latest of a handful of spring festivals that have rescheduled to the fall amid coronavirus uncertainty.

Movement Detroit, traditionally on Memorial Day weekend, was postponed to September 11 to 13. Similarly, Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, which was slated for June 11 to 14, was rescheduled for September 24 to 27. Desert Hearts Festival, which was scheduled for late April, has been shifted to October 22 to 26. Coachella and Stagecoach moved their April dates to October.

Meanwhile, the first to suffer was Ultra Music Festival. The festival that was planned for last weekend was postponed to March 2021—a cancelation, essentially.
