2020 is a year that we will remember for a long, long time, and probably not for the right reasons. Since the beginning of the year, the new Coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic has been steadily spreading all over the world. Today, we’ve learned that Idris Elba Tested Positive For Covid-19, and just like that, he became officially the first DJ in the world carrying on the virus.
In a Twitter post earlier today, Idris announced the news to all his fans:
“This morning I tested positive for Covid 19. I feel ok, I have no symptoms so far but have been isolated since I found out about my possible exposure to the virus. Stay home people and be pragmatic. I will keep you updated on how I’m doing. No panic.”
Luckily for Idris, he has expressed that there is nothing to panic about; he says that isolation is just a measure to prevent it from spreading and infecting other people.
Over the last few years, Idris became very famous for his roles in major blockbuster movies such as Avengers (The Infinity Saga), Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw and Prometheus. He also starred in some great TV shows, like Luther, The Wire or Turn Up Charlie, a show about an aspiring DJ.
But his passion for mixing music doesn’t end up in a Netflix Series, as he’s indeed a real house DJ! His love for the turntables has taken him to gigs in major music festivals, Creamfields, Tomorrowland and Coachella. Where will we spot him next? Only time will tell.
In the meantime, stay safe everyone and avoid crowds as much as possible. Let’s beat Covid-19!
