Avicii created history in the EDM community and his passing greatly influenced artists and fans all over the world. Last year, the Swedish Grammis (also known as Grammisgalan) dedicated a tribute video for Avicii that moved everyone. Despite him not being here, his legacy continues to live on through the memories of people and hearts that he has touched.
This year, Avicii was nominated for 4 awards, including Producer of the Year. He won 2 Grammis – ‘SOS‘ (feat. Aloe Blacc) won Song of the Year, and TIM won Electro/Dance Album of the Year. Avicii’s colleague and friend, Albin Nedler, along with his father, Klas Berling, received the award in Avicii’s place.
“If Tim had been here tonight he would have been overjoyed, proud and grateful for this award. This price is entirely for him. We miss you very, very much.”
Albin Nedler
Carl Falk, who co-produced TIM along with others, celebrated and shared the meaningful moment on social media. Falk has known and worked alongside Avicii since 2010, and he played a part in finishing “Ain’t A Thing,” “Bad Reputation,” and “Fades Away.” Without the help of Falk and the rest of his friends and family, TIM would not have been as huge of a success as it is today.
