Although Samsung‘s Unpacked event is still a week away, they face yet another leak. After recuperating from a disappointing year with the Galaxy Fold, Samsung started working on a new foldable phone. The Galaxy Z Flip is rumored to be the next addition to the Galaxy family. Similar to the Motorola Razr, the Galaxy Z Flip has incorporated the classic flip/clamshell style. In addition, its portable size may attract users over the Galaxy Fold.
Twitter user and tech enthusiast Ben Geskin recently posted a short video of the rumored Galaxy Z Flip. The 19-second video showcases a shiny purple device that magically flips open. Unlike other foldable phones, this device relies on two displays. The main display is revealed once flipped open while the second is located on the outer shell. In the video, the smaller external display looks to be showing the time, date, and battery level.
Regarding other features, there looks to be two cameras on the exterior of the device. Additionally, there is a hole-punch camera inside for endless selfies. Unfortunately, the video did not reveal any internal specs. Previous rumors speculated that the Z Flip would incorporate a 6.7-inch display. In addition, there may even be a new ultra thin glass planned for the device. Pricing for this new product is still being speculated.
Samsung’s Unpacked event is on February 11 in San Fransisco. Besides the Z Flip, the highly anticipated Galaxy S20 is expected to be announced. The S20 has also had its share of leaks within the past several months. In the meantime, take a look at the Z Flip video below, and you’ll be able to watch Samsung’s Unpacked event live stream here!
