Back in August, Big Gigantic helps us put a proper stamp on the summertime with their fresh single ‘Friends‘ featuring Ashe. So, now that spring is almost here, it’s only fitting that they’re back to help us heat things up again. After locking things down for the winter, it’s definitely nice to clear out those cobwebs as soon as spring rolls around. What better way to do that, than with a new album, tour and video? Surely, it feels like they’re coining the theme of the spring festival season with their new studio album, Free Your Mind. The tropical vibes will be heating up in no time if Big G has any say in the matter. Especially, after you watch their new video for ‘Burning Love‘ featuring Kidepo.
It’s been a long time coming for Boulder, Colorado‘s hometown heroes to finally drop another full-length album. Certainly both men are in full gush mode when talking about Free Your Mind. Dom Lalli, who manhandles the saxophone, has this to say in their new feelgood project’s press release:
Indeed, like all their other albums, Free Your Mind is drummer Jeremy Salken‘s favorite one they’ve done so far. He doubles down on Dom’s sentiments when he says this:
Free Your Mind, Now in 3D
Of course, while we expect their studio productions to take us to another place mentally, the live Big G experience it’s what it’s all about. Anticipation is already building for their amped-up Live 3D stage production too. Thankfully, fans won’t have to wait long to appease that appetite. As soon as spring hits, the duo will be kicking their US tour into high gear with 20+ dates over March and April. Then, as usual, the tour will culminate with five Rowdytown dates in May and September, including new stops in New York and LA. Furthermore, it’s like they’re reading our minds when booking Ookay, and Droeloe in support for the tour. Additionally, the guys were gracious enough to give us a taste of what’s to come during their album release party last night. Go here to view the stream in case you missed it.
Until then, Free Your Mind will have to suffice. However, that should be more than enough to hold you over. The 13 track effort includes features from TOBI, Pell & Louis Futon, and Jennifer Hartswick, on the album’s title track. Not to mention, that along with the new album, Big G’s blessing us with a new video for ‘Burning Love.’ Undoubtedly, it will be the theme song for cuffing season once their tour ends this fall.
