33 year-old Hungarian producer Sunny Lax has begun his kicked off 2020 with a bang- releasing a dual sided record through Above & Beyond‘s trance label Anjunabeats.
‘Solar Plexus’ and ‘Torus’ have brooding, triplet-driven basslines which push the tech trance vibes of the EP. This single is a change from his previous 2020 single ‘Morning Snow‘ .
Solar Plexus
‘Solar Plexus’ introduces the clean sound of a thick and plucky synth over a booming bassline; the track then leads into a progressive trance breakdown. The soothing piano leads into a buildup with high energy synths soaring the melody towards its climactic chorus.
Torus
‘Torus’ on the other hand is a deeper track which reminds me of ‘Hallucination‘, off his previous dual EP. It’s a perfect track for the middle of your set – beginning with just a bassline. The track then slows to an ambience to allow for a breath of fresh air. It then launches into a bass dominant second half, with a distant melody playing to round out the track.
