Every year in March, South by Southwest celebrates the convergence of the interactive, film, and music industries. And one of the key figures representing the music industry this year is Diplo, who was just announced as a keynote speaker for SXSW 2020.

As the conference organizers suggest themselves, keynote speakers “exemplify the spirit, ingenuity, and entrepreneurial drive that SXSW cultivates.” At this moment, Diplo has yet to reveal what he plans to discuss, but we’re certain it’ll be personal and inspirational.
Looking at Diplo’s achievements over the recent years, the reason for which he was chosen quickly becomes clear. Just last year, Diplo launched his new house-music focused label Higher Ground, at the same time running his country music project Thomas Wesley. He is also the epitome of collaborative success, having created Major Lazer, as well as LSD alongside Sia and Labrinth. All this comes on top of regularly playing at major music festivals, such as Coachella and Electric Zoo.
Other keynote speakers representing the music industry include prolific artist Kim Gordon and Roger Waters, founding member of Pink Floyd. See the full list of keynote speakers here.
SXSW 2020 will take place from March 13 to 21 in Austin, Texas this year. Don’t forget to register for one of the music industry’s most prolific events here.
