It turns out that the Kaos saga is only just beginning. After the club closed its doors last month, Kaskade decided to sue the venue for his residency contract payments.
The American DJ was one of the club’s headliners with a signed contract for 30 shows per year for the next two years. This year Kaskade already played 27 of them until late October when the venue canceled his remaining three shows for this season. This happened only days before Kaos announced its shut-down. Just because you go out of business doesn’t mean your contracts are nullified.
The Vegas club started big with promising plans for its party-goers. It had huge residencies and festival-worthy roaster by Marshmello, Deadmau5, Eric Prydz, Kaskade, Skrillex, Armin van Buuren and many more. With this in place, Kaos has easily dazzled its way into the center of the Vegas party scene.
However, everything took another direction with Red Rock reporting a net loss of $26.8 million, Marshmello canceling his residency, and other events, leading the club to shut down merely seven months from its opening.
Now, Kaskade is suing FP Holdings which is behind Palms Casino Resort, the venue where KAOS was located, to obtain the payments he is owed under the contract.
