Sony is beginning to reveal more information about the upcoming PS5 release. For the time being, other than unveiling certain features, we know when we can expect the console. According to the company, their upcoming PlayStation is launching during the 2020 Holiday season. This means it can be anywhere within the range of October to December. Sony took to social media to make this announcement.

As mentioned, they’re giving us an insight into some functions that we can expect beyond the console itself. Some of the new controllers were rolled out to select game developers to find potential ways of utilizing the new feature. If done well, this can help shape immersion in video games and create more vast and unique individual experiences. This was a part of their blog post allowing us an insight into what we can expect.
“The second innovation is something we call adaptive triggers, which have been incorporated into the trigger buttons (L2/R2). Developers can program the resistance of the triggers so that you feel the tactile sensation of drawing a bow and arrow or accelerating an off-road vehicle through rocky terrain. In combination with the haptics, this can produce a powerful experience that better simulates various actions. Game creators have started to receive early versions of the new controller, and we can’t wait to see where their imagination goes with these new features at their disposal.”
This is obviously separate from the hardware advancements including running on an AMD CPU and having SSD based memory.
In The Meantime
Until we get more information on Sony’s upcoming PS5, there are many game titles to look forward to. To name a few, there is Hideo Kojima‘s Death Stranding, Naughty Dog‘s The Last Of Us 2 and CD Projekt Red‘s Cyberpunk 2077. These are massive titles which we can’t wait to dig into.
