Hardwell fans sure have been on an emotional roller coaster. Earlier this week, rumours that Hardwell had played under the alias of ‘Mr. X‘ during Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano‘s EXPOSED had made its way quick across the electronic music world. However, just as quickly, the Hardwell’s manager Anna Knaup and the man himself dismissed the rumour as untrue.
In a statement released via an Instagram story, Knaup “officially [confirmed] that whilst Robbert (aka Hardwell) did make an appearance at Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano’s ADE party, he was not there to perform but merely there to support his friends’ event and to enjoy the night.“
In response to other media outlets asking the same question of whether he had made a secret appearance at ADE 2019, Hardwell himself also gave a clear, definite ‘no’ via Twitter. He links a picture of Knaup’s statement to his answer as well.

Although some fans remained unconvinced, it sounds like it’ll be a while before Hardwell comes back for good from his indefinite sabbatical from touring, especially with Knaup’s closing line that “for now, he wishes to continue to enjoy his time away from the spotlight.” This would mean it has officially been over one year since the DJ has performed his last public performance, which was his All Ages show at ADE 2018.
