Xiaomi has announced its new prized-product: Mi Mix Alpha. This sleek device is part of the Mi Mix family and is the first phone with a 180% screen-to-body ratio. The phone is built of aero-grade titanium, which is even lighter than stainless steel. It is set to launch in December, priced at $2,800.
This new product by Xiaomi goes a big step ahead of the foldable prototypes trend. The back of the phone and the edges are fully covered by the display. The only parts that are not covered by this huge screen are the top and the bottom of the device. Outstanding design by Xiaomi, but this surrounding display is not the only innovative feature of the Mi Mix Alpha.
Xiaomi is getting better and better in the photography aspect. They have also incorporated one of the best cameras on the market, with 108 megapixels. Additionally, it includes a 20Mp ultra widecamera with 1.5 cm super macro. In addition to that, it has a 12 Mp telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom. With these features, EDM lovers will be able to capture detailed pictures and videos at their favorite events. It will not include a front-facing camera, but think about this – since the screen goes all the way around to the back, there is only a need for one camera. The black band where the camera is placed main camera runs vertically across the device.
The phone does not have any physical button except the power button on the top of it. It has a on screen fingerprint display and pressure sensors for the edges. Moreover, some acoustic technology that replaces the earpiece and external speaker will be placed underneath the display.
It Carries The Best Hardware Available
Regarding hardware, it includes top shelf processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ chipset, acompamied by 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It already has 5G radio bands and a 4,050mAh battery with 40W fast charging capability. This device will see the light in December, but it is not officially clear as to whether it will be available in markets outside of China. As previously mentioned, the price of Mi Mix Alpha is quite high, sitting at $2,800. But, if we look at all the capabilities of the phone, this extreme price point may be *slightly* more justified if it delivers on its specs.
