By now, you are probably aware that the Amazon rainforest, AKA the lungs of the planet, is currently experiencing a raging wildfire. The area’s rainforest plays a crucial role in regulating the Earth’s climate and generates more than 20% of the world’s oxygen and 10% of the world’s known biodiversity.
The statistics speak volumes. Earlier this month, Brazil declared a state of emergency over the rising number of fires in the region. The time is now to help in any way that you can! How you may ask? Check it out below!
Ida Engberg and Drumcode have teamed up to bring awareness to this important disaster. Engberg has set up a fundraiser in collaboration with Amazon Watch, an organization that works with the indigenous people of South America.
For the past 20 years, Amazon Watch has been deeply committed to giving the indigenous people an opportunity to vocally express themselves, and ultimately, defend their rights and territories. Their land holds a whopping 80% of global biodiversity – no wonder it’s sought after by so many!
For more information about this amazing organization, or to join the movement, check out the company’s official website, and check out the short clip below!
Donating is so easy. All you have to do is follow this link, click “donate”, and fill in your preferred payment method. Any contribution makes a huge difference, no matter how much or little you choose to donate.
Furthermore, if you change your search engine to Ecosia or every time that you search within the engine, the company will plant a tree. How easy is that? Get to it!
In addition, Drumcode will also be supporting Greenpeace Netherland, a non-governmental environmental organization with offices in over 39 countries. You can show your support this weekend at Drumcode Festival 2019.
We would like to recognize Ida Engberg and Drumcode’s admirable efforts and encourage our readers to help in any way that they can. Don’t wait until it’s too late.
