Armin van Buuren – Stickup
Armin van Buuren has been on a roll for the last decade, and from the looks of it, he has no intention of slowing down. For a shining example of this, look no further than his imprint, Armind, which has just hit 1,500 releases. To commemorate, Armin van Buuren has just released fan-favorite ‘Stickup‘.
If you didn’t know, Armind was the very ‘first imprint of Armada‘ to be created. It is also the label in which Armin chose to be the home of all of his own productions. With that being said it’s easy to see that it holds a special place in the heart of both Armada, and Armin van Buuren. In addition, this label is the home of numerous artists, such as Andrew Rayel, Alexander Popov, and Orjan Nilsen.
According to the labels official website, this is the same label that Armin:
” …selects the best and most original tunes, [which are] often instant classics or glorious future favorites.”
As stated previously, to commemorate the 1500’th release, Armin has dropped the epic, mainstage banger, ‘Stickup’ . If you follow Armin van Burren, you would know that ‘Stickup’ was first premiered at ASOT 900 in Utrecht. The track is also featured in his new ‘A State Of Trance, Ibiza 2019‘ album.
Stickup
‘Stickup’ starts quickly with a slight snare build, which is quickly replaced by a thumping kick drum & fist-pump inducing synth. The track continues to build, and the robotic vocal of ‘Put Your Fckn Hands Up’ is played out.
At 0:43, we get a bridge of sorts, that reminds us a lot of Kernkraft 400’s‘s ‘Zombie Nation‘. If you haven’t heard it, you should as it’s a classic. Having said this, ‘Stickup’ is chock-full of classic trance sounds. These are the same type of sounds that will have even the biggest trance heads reminiscing. I believe this is exactly what Armin was hoping for.
At 1:31 and 2:14, we get what are easily the biggest drops on the track. I could try and break them down for you, but rather, I recommend you do yourself a favor and listen to them yourself.
With a run time of only 2:49, this is a track that goes by pretty quickly. With that being said, we won’t hold it against you if you keep this one looping on repeat. Armin van Buuren‘s newest release ‘Stickup‘ is out now on Armada Music, and can be streamed below, enjoy!
