This certainly isn’t a bad Omen for Disclosure lovers. In an interview with ABC’s triple j, the duo confirmed they have written over 100 new songs in the last few years, all unreleased.
While continuing their hiatus, the duo took a break from the limelight and touring. While releasing music sporadically including a single this year with Khalid titled ‘Talk‘, the electronic hitmakers have apparently been working hard in the studio. Other singles last year included ‘Where Angels Fear to Tread‘. Disclosure broke their initial silence while releasing ‘Ultimatum‘, featuring the vocals of Fatoumata Diawara. There have also been rumors of a new album coming in the near future.
“We’ve been working on this music for two years now. We’re getting to a point we’re almost happy but we’ve been at that ‘almost’ stage for a while,” Howard Lawrence, half of the Disclosure duo along with his brother shared to triple j Drive. “We’ve written over 100 songs over the last couple years and haven’t compiled them in any order or chosen which ones we’re going to release.”
It certainly has been a while since we have heard from Disclosure. Having not released a full length album since 2015’s Caracal, there is much anticipation for their new music. The duo goes on in the interview to explain they’d like to release a new album by “the end of this year” or beginning of next.” I guess we’ll have to wait and see what Disclosure has in store for us in the near future.
