Sonny Fodera – Rise
As his newest release, Sonny Fodera prompted to output an album titled RISE on his own label, Solotoko. This trails his previous Frequently Flying LP which released through the Defected imprint. From a glance, you’ll immediately realize that the producer continued implementing a large number of features. As a result, Biscits, Janai, Kideko, Alex Mills and Josh Barry are a few names listed on the tracklist. Furthermore, Shannon Saunders is another feature beside Janai that took part in this album as well as the previous. Talking about the album with Mixmag, Fodera exclaimed;
“I’ve been writing this album since I finished my last one on Defected! One of them I wrote in November 2016. It’s been a few years in the making and it’s quite amazing to be putting it out now. I guess it’s time. A lot of the guest singers write their own lyrics but it’s all emotional in positive ways. There are a lot of people screaming their hearts out! I called the album ‘RISE’ because the last year has been crazy in terms of my career, and then constantly being in the air. And keeping the concept I wrote a lot of the music up in the sky.”
Sonny’s music was receiving support from prominent names before seeing its public release. Pete Tong, Danny Howard and Scott Mills to name a few have shown their backing for ‘RISE’.
In the meantime, the producer is gearing up for an official tour in support of the album. As the current dates outline, he’s set to embark from Liverpool in October reaching New castle late November.
