It appears the damage to Tomorrowland‘s Freedom Stage was much worse than initially thought. So bad, in fact, that Eric Prydz will be forced to perform without his signature Holosphere stage. That’s right – Holosphere will apparently only be a one-off show, for now.
Tomorrowland issued the devastating news on Thursday evening.
“Freedom Stage – this weekend home to Eric Prydz, Axtone and A State of Trance – will transform into an open air stage. On Wednesday afternoon, a part of the ceiling of the covered Freedom stage sank. Our technical experts and production teams are not able to reconstruct the structure of the ceiling to Tomorrowland’s standards. The safety of our guests remains our highest priority and that’s why we created a Freedom Outdoor stage.
Eric Prydz will still be closing the stage on Friday, unfortunately there is no time to build his Holosphere. The Symphony of Unity will be relocated to the Lotus Stage on Sunday (17h00 – 18h00 CEST). The rest of the line-up remains unchanged. Download the Official Tomorrowland Mobile app for last minute updates.“
With tomorrow’s weather in Belgium facing record sun and heat, we have no idea how this will affect the overall vibe and feel of the fan-favorite stage. Needless to say this is pretty devastating news, but the safety of the patrons obviously comes first. Luckily, Eric will still be closing the stage and will also be performing as Cirez D on Sunday night.
