Eric Prydz is still clearly on a roll this year, with his godly dancefloor tracks. These new pieces come to us with great surprise but also immense appreciation. ‘Dawn‘, ‘New Eras‘, ‘Linked‘, ‘Warrior, ‘Moln‘ and ‘Illumination (EPIC Radio 16 ID)‘ are the six new tracks.
“Illumination” is exactly that airy uplifting proggy sound that many have missed from Eric while he has been deep in his exploration of techno lately. It captures that 80s synth vibe that he loves so much. “Moln” is a heavily demanded track that takes a turn for the darker, evoking a speedy drive on a rainy day.
“Warrior” is probably the sleeper hit of the EP, and it grows on you more and more as you listen despite not getting the same level of fan-buzz as the other tracks. “Linked” is such a huge fan favorite and such a staple of Eric’s sets for such a long time that it’s hard to believe the track is only being released today. Ditto for “Dawn” which has been a mainstay in sets for many years. Closing it down perfectly is “New Eras“.
So now the fans can’t complain that Eric forgot about the EPs, and start speculating about the tracklist and release date for Volumes II and III.
