It’s been a long quiet June for Martin Garrix since injuring his ankle on May 25th. However, fans can rejoice as Garrix plans to return to the stage at the opening of his Ushuaïa residency on July 4th.
Garrix’s injury happened while performing on a Saturday night at his Omnia Las Vegas residency. While jumping off stage the DJ injured his ankle. He was taken to the hospital in an ambulance after the show.
Unfortunately, the injury couldn’t have come at a worse time at the height of festival season. Garrix was forced to cancel appearances at Ultra Singapore, Echostage and Spring Awakening.
While he will be back to performing, Garrix made sure to tell fans he won’t yet be running at 100%.
“It will obviously take quite some time before everything will be back to normal and I will be able to jump around on stage like I usually do, but for now I’m just super happy that I can start playing shows again.”
Garrix thanked his fans for the support and understanding in the announcement of his return on Instagram.
The good news gives Martin Garrix fans planning to attend Tomorrowland a sigh of relief. Garrix is scheduled to play the STMPD RCRDS Stage.
