Holy Ship! Addresses Concerns Over Punta Cana

Holy Ship! is set to go ashore at Punta Cana in January, and in the wake of the mysterious deaths happening the festival put out a statement to quell concerns. Between 9 to 11 tourists have died while vacationing in the DR in the last six months. The speculation is that the deaths have to do with liquor. Needless to say, a number of future tourists are having second thoughts.

This includes an obvious uneasiness among the attendees for Holy Ship! who were interested or had already bought tickets. Although the U.S. State Department put out its own statement, people are still concerned.

Holy Ship! posted the initial statement above and it garnered a lot of backlash and unhappy people in the comments. There was disapproval of the vague address and critiques about the festival not offering refunds to attendees or cancelling altogether due to the risk. However, Holy Ship! replied in the comment section stating that the Minister of Health is wrapping up a press conference and they’ll review the cases. Official toxicology and autopsy reports will be the only way to appease the crowd and settle the situation.

Holy Ship! offers an experience unlike any other. So it would be a bummer to all EDM fans if it were to be cancelled. However, safety comes first and I’m sure event founders and everyone involved wouldn’t continue with such a big risk.

EDMTunes will continue to update with more information when it comes out.
