Eventbrite Expands First Development Center in Madrid, Spain
Austin Rasmussen
Event management and ticketing website Eventbrite has confirmed they will be expanding from their San Francisco HQ. The corporation will be opening a massive 4-story, 25,000 sq. ft. development center in Madrid, Spain this coming May. This decision makes logical sense as Eventbrite recently purchased the Spanish company Ticketea earlier this year. Going forward, the company plans to triple its engineering and product development employee base it currently holds in Europe.
You probably recognize the name Eventbrite from purchasing tickets to various events where you live. Currently, Eventbrite has around 80 employees located in Spain alone but with the new development center, that number will easily increase. To better accommodate and house their growing employee base, the development center will also feature several amenities. Everything from flexible work spaces, maternity rooms, free lunches, outdoor recreational spaces, and a library will be included.
“It will be the embodiment of Eventbrite’s thriving global culture, and we aim to make being here the closest thing to working in San Francisco”. – Javier Andrés
To give back to the local community, Eventbrite has also stated that the new center will include dedicated event spaces. These will be available for community meetups, music events, networking events, sports, and much more.
All in all, this center is mimicking what countless company headquarters offer in Silicone Valley but bringing them to Spain. Most importantly, this move will push them further into the global market to better compete with powerhouse rivals like Ticketmaster and Live Nation.
