WAVEDASH – The Same
Texas trio WAVEDASH return to NGHTMRE & Slander’s Gud Vibrations record label with their new track “The Same”. The track is also the final track from their ‘Opening Ceremony’ EP. I’ll say its aptly named because this track provides a listening experience that won’t leave you the same after.
The track starts with an amazing piano & strings intro followed by a euphoric vocal beautifully layered on top. Around a minute in, a raw screech reminds us that this indeed is no pop anthem. As the pace picks up to the drop, the bass finally kicks in. Headbangers will absolutely love this one. The Same is an amazing blend of euphoric melodies & face-melting bass. For all of those people who like to say “Oh Dubstep is dead”, WAVEDASH are a stark reminder that the genre is alive and well.
The group came into the public eye in 2016 after Skrillex picked up their track ‘Bang’ and featured it in OWSLA’s Worldwide Compilation. And ever since they have been on a roll with banger after banger. If you’ve been sleeping on WAVEDASH well you’ve been missing out on a fair bit.
