Illenium really needs no introduction at this point. Ashes and Awake both massively popular albums, a sold-out tour & an upcoming headlining show at the legendary Madison Square Garden. Illenium’s rise to the top of the future bass scene has been meteoric & he doesn’t look like he will be ‘Crashing’ down anytime soon.
‘Crashing’ marks his 1st single for 2019 following up on last years ‘God Damnit’ with Call me Karizma. For ‘Crashing’ Illenium enlisted singer Bahari who you may remember from Zedd’s ‘Addicted to a Memory’. Bahari exhibits her incredible vocal prowess & her staggering talent breathes a new life into the track. The track itself just like ‘God Damnit‘ is a slight departure from Illenium’s usual style. The track features more pop elements mixed with dance ones and is more akin to Odesza’s production style. The vocal, the melody, the soothing drop all combine together to give a euphoric, airy & feel good vibe. It’s a lot softer than I imagined because of the addition of more poppy elements, but I love it. This only reaffirms that Illenium always knows how to hit those feels.
