Diplo continues to take us on a wild adventure with his newest collaboration, ‘Boom Boom Bye’. It’s been about six months since his California EP was released, and now it seems he want to expand his scope even further. The release of ‘Boom Boom Bye’ is the first single off his just-announced, forthcoming EP, ‘Europa‘.
‘Boom Bye Bye’ has Diplo working with the lyrically talented French rapper Niska and demonstrates his affinity for collaborations. ‘Boom Boom Bye’ offers a signature Diplo beat with a new desire for more – such as a gritty midtempo and accents of large synth chords in the chorus. The video matches the song’s tone, showing young men running in the rundown streets and buildings with Diplo and Niska posing off to the side.
Diplo wrote in the description of the music video on YouTube that “Niska came over late one night in Paris and we played this idea down on a piano loop that I made.” He continued:
“I had only been familiar with him, because he had every song on the french charts that moment. I was really excited that he came thru and made this crazy idea with me..one year later we finished it.”
Seeing how his last EP had multiple collaborations with primarily American artists – including Lil Yachty & Santigold, Desiigner, DRAM, Trippie Redd, Lil Xan and MØ & GoldLink – we’re expecting more collaborations to come with the new EP. Knowing Diplo, it is likely he will be changing things up and like the title will be testing the overseas talent.
Though there is no news on a release date on the EP yet, you can check out the new release below.
