Tinlicker – About You [deadmau5 world premiere]
Out now is the exclusive deadmau5 world premiere of ‘About You‘, which premiered on mau5trap radio. This radio show airs every weekend worldwide and currently features the infamous Dutch duo, Tinlicker.
The track starts off with a pounding bassline sprinkled with claps and an Anjuna echo in the background. Elements of the Tinlicker signature sound shine through. A soft, angelic voice sings the phrase “About you, everything about you” throughout the song. deadmau5’s synth later enters, tying the entire piece together. Both artists’ musical stylings work together beautifully in this piece. It is just under six minutes of computerized soul that leaves you thinking more about you.
Jordi van Achthoven and Micha Heyboer comprise the pairing that is Tinlicker and always hone their progressive sounds. The mouse himself, as well as Above & Beyond, are their inspirations. They’ve guest starred on many live shows, including Group Therapy and BBC.
It is appropriate that mau5trap radio picked this one up because it is stunning. As each minute flows by, you think the song is about to end. Then the smash of that bass synth comes again and takes you to another verse. Electronic dance music would be nothing without these two.
