The year quickly reached its end. Spotify got a jump on all of the inevitable “Look Back” applications with 2018 Wrapped feature. Their annual review cycles through your Spotify account, detailing different statistics such as the amount of time you used the site, the artists you listened to the most, and your top songs.
The statistics come with a bright, colorful animated webpage. It’s a fun way to remember the year in song.
Not only do they give you statistics, they curate a few playlists for you as well. One playlist shows your top played songs of 2018 while another, labeled “Tastebreakers”, presents you with fifty songs you didn’t play this year.
“Start 2019 by broadening your horizons. We’ve made you a playlist of songs from genres and artists you don’t normally explore – and we think you’ll like it.”
It’s an interesting idea. Give your Tastebreaker playlist a listen. You might find something new that you like. Or you might get reminded why you liked the music you listened to this year that much more.
When you’re done looking at your own wrap-up, you can head over to the 2018 Top playlists page. Top artists, tracks, female artists, male artists, groups, Latin tracks, and Latin artists are all featured. Pretty standard yearly stuff, but the presentation comes in a fun way.

And here’s to all the music we’ll listen to in 2019!
