Fans around the world are rejoicing today, a new Gesaffelstein album has just been confirmed, titled Hyperion. However, there has not been a release date announced yet. Gesaffelstein fans have been eagerly awaiting a new album for 5 years, since his last release of Aleph in 2013.
The mural above showed up in Miami this past week during the Art Basel festival. It states that this is the cover of Hyperion, the new album by Gesaffelstein. We believe the adjacent picture will be the album artwork for Hyperion, the shattering black pane. Also, the black pane is a call back to the memory of The Black Keys’ 2010 album, Brothers. The Black Keys’ album’s announcement read, “This is an album by The Black Keys. The name of this album is Brothers.” There seems to be a theme with how Gesaffelstein likes to make announcements, he seems to always post massive billboards. Just a few months ago he had put billboards up in Paris and NYC. The billboards were solid black with just the world “Gesaffelstein” illuminated on them.
UPDATE:
Gessafelstein has confirmed on Facebook with a hi-res picture of the art, but still no indication of when
