Steve Aoki Wants to Collaborate with Elon Musk
Steve Aoki wants to collaborate with the billionaire, Elon Musk. He revealed this in an interview with Buzzfeed’s AM to DM.
“I would love to have him in the studio with me to make some music,” he said. He then added that it was all about getting the creativity and the ideas flowing. Seeing as Musk is the kind of guy who would sell (not a) flamethrower, it makes sense.
Both of these men seem to be on a similar wavelength of creativity with their business ventures. Aoki currently has a successful pizza company called Pizzaoki. He also recently launched his own line of socks that ship out in a cake box. It’s no telling what these two would make if they combined their minds and resources.
This also isn’t the first time Aoki has collaborated with non-musicians. In the AM to DM interview, he talks about working with JJ Abrams on ‘Warp Speed’ which is on his album ‘Neon Future II’. “At the end of the day, it’s really just him talking and I made the soundscape under his voice. But…that’s a collaboration.”
Aoki says that being influenced and working with people outside of the music industry is just as important as doing that with people who are in the industry.
“Those songs are the ones that permeate culture at the end of the day. Those are the songs that really push the needle.”
Musk hasn’t commented yet as to what he thinks about a collaboration, but if he goes for it, the possibilities are endless.
